BRIEF
Before the show AVC Live required a virtual simulation of the projection mapping: exposing creative and technical challenges, viewing the sculpture from an audience perspective, and communicating changes to the client visually.
WORKFLOW
Sensel Studio assisted AVC Live by delivering: 3D models, 2D templates, projector studies, and a disguise project.
Seven Three scanned the sculpture and generated a high-poly mesh. Sensel Studio optimised the high-poly mesh in Rhino, and generated a low-poly mesh in 3ds Max. The low-poly mesh was UV mapped in Blender and rendered to 2D templates in Illustrator.
SUMMARY
Over the 4 week pre-production period Sensel Studio delivered the render pipeline: engineering AfterEffects packages, Previz scenes, disguise projects, and projection mapping the sculpture on-site. The show was viewed by a live audience for one special evening.
