Nightflyers
Based on the novel by George R.R. Martin, Nightflyers is a science fiction horror starring a crew of scientists aboard a spaceship called the Nightflyer. In the year 2093 the crew encounters a mysterious alien signal leading to a series of strange events, shot as ten episodes at Troy Studios in Limerick.

Problem
Green screen was unsuitable for shots featuring the cast inside the Nightflyer, because the spaceship’s reflective surfaces were prone to green spill and posed a challenge for post-production. The visual effects department required footage to be sequenced, mapped and composited on-set to look and feel believable in-camera.
Solution
We supported High Res Lighting in delivering multiple enhanced environments, playing two 6K plates on two LED walls outputting 60 frames per second. We engineered a solution enabling content to be re-composed without re-rendering, programming a system of tracks and layers to be chroma keyed in Disguise Designer.
Delivery
Over the twelve week shoot period we managed the virtual production delivery on-set; supervising content teams, implementing content storage, configuring media servers, engineering in-camera workflows, operating on-set shoots and training local technicians.
